Intel: Above the Arctic
The Intel Falcon 8+ Drone is a commercial drone used for surveying and inspection. Its thermal camera is traditionally used by oil companies to inspect flare stacks. To showcase the resilience and precision of the drone, we partnered with an arctic conservationist and took it to the epicenter of climate change: 80° North. Our goal was to use the drone and its thermal camera to test a noninvasive way of finding and tracking polar bears hidden in the ice and snow.
It was the first time a mission like this had ever been attempted.
